CBR

CBR-California Bearing Ratio

The ‘California Bearing Ratio’ (CBR) is a Penetration Test performed to evaluate the Mechanical Strength of Natural Ground, as well as on Subgrades and Base Courses beneath new Carriageway Constructions and also Flexible Pavements..

The ‘CBR-Rating’ was developed for the purpose of measuring the ‘Load-Bearing Capacity’ of soils, used for building roads.

The CBR can also be used for measuring the Load-Bearing Capacity of unimproved airstrips or for soils, under paved airstrips.

RT Supplies the ‘ Pro-Ikon Electronic CBR ‘  – Marshall Press/ UTS/ ITS Machiene –

PRO - IKON ELECTRONIC CBR

(MARSHALL PRESS / UCS / ITS MACHIENE)

Features:

  • Two column frame
  • Cross-Beam Support of 200KN (20Ton)
  • 1HP 750Watt AC motor and gearbox
  • DuoCon digital controller
  • Easy test selection
  • Customizable load rate
  • USB connectivity
  • Optional DuoSoft software
  • Platern travel of 80mm. SANAS calibration certification issued

Here follows the Equation to Calculate the ‘CBR-Test’ as done on Soils:

CBR = (Load carried by specimen)/(load carried by standard specimen)×100

= CBR [%]

= measured pressure for site soils [N/mm²]
= pressure to achieve equal penetration on standard soil [N/mm²]
